He slapped her cheeks, feeling the sting and wincing as he hurt her. Her pupils slowly contracted back
to normal as the brainwashing effects leached away.
What? Where? Yumi s confused questions faded as she finally focused on him.
Tomas! With movements still obviously dopey from the machine s effects Yumi curled her arms
around his neck and pulled him down for a searing, heart-burning kiss. Tomas. She whispered his name
against his lips and sent a raging lust through him, causing him to harden, steel-like.
Yumi. Taylah tried to ease her away. Not now. We have, have to get away.
Not yet, haven t finished, want you. Still blind to their situation Yumi rubbed his cock through his
pants. Taylah jumped, longing to rip both their clothes off and savor the delights she promised. God! If
only they were in a different place and Yumi in control of her senses.
Yumi, it s dangerous. We have to get out of here. Disengaging himself from her he stared into her
eyes. We must escape. Now.
He watched as some kind of understanding dawned in her eyes.
Yes, she mumbled. Why do I feel so strange?
Subconscious Psychonic Control, he answered. It will wear off given time. How clearly can you
think? Are you able to disable the security vids again?
I think so. Yumi shook her head. Feels like my brain is full of cobwebs.
Okay, please try. I ll keep guard on the door until you re done.

Dante I
Yes, Yumi agreed. Standing she wobbled weakly and stumbled to an active terminal. I ll see what
I can do.
Taylah watched her and worried until she was sitting again. SPC was an atrocious torture and often
left its victims as nothing more than brainless shells. For the first time since arriving on Dante I he
wondered if the Bolgër were worth saving. Still he d arrived in time; there seemed to be no permanent
damage to Yumi yet.
He clung to that hope as he moved to the door, listening through the motion detectors to see if anyone
was moving in the corridors beyond. So far their luck had held. Overconfidence of the Bolgër had allowed
them almost free passage. He quickly dragged the unconscious guards into the control room. They were
less likely to be found by accident in here than out in the corridor.
There, Yumi said. Standing, with only a little wobble, she walked toward him. The Security vids
should be down for a couple of hours. What do we do now?
We get out of here, Taylah answered. To a little place I know. To a place he d never thought he d
have to use. Stay close, he told her, aching to touch her. Things might get a bit hairy for a while.
With that he led her into the corridor.
Marcella fine tuned the image from the security vid to clarify the details on the battle cruiser. Tarug s
flagship the Ultimate, was now landing on the Rock. Landings were rare for a ship that size and Marcella
could already see the crew and commanders taking the opportunity and using it for extensive maintenance
and resupply.
So, Tarug had finally landed. Marcella didn t know if she felt fear or relief. She should be scared.
Tarug had sworn to kill her, and he had a million intergalactic dollars bounty on her head. But she felt relief
too. An odd relief that, maybe, she might see Raol again.
She tried to shake the silly thought from her head. Seeing Raol was out of the question. Fraternizing
with the enemy would just be stupid and dangerous.
She paused, watching the figures step from the huge ship and walk across the rocky surface toward
the docking tunnel the portable metal tube that would take them straight to the airlocks. She instantly
recognized Tarug s stubby, dwarven spacesuit and the tall golden-hued space suit that had to be Raol. She
had no idea who the miniature guy was in the tiny space suit beside him.
Marcella felt her breath catch as understanding dawned. No, surely he didn t. If he d brought Lilithia
with him Marcella was doomed.
Sadie s Hell, Marcella swore softly to herself as she closed all the vid screen connections. She had
to get off Dante I and she had to get out of here now. Regardless that she still hadn t discovered the secrets
of Sector Z.

The lights over the newsvid flashed, indicating an important Separatist announcement was being
received.
Attention all colonists, the newscaster announced. We welcome the Great and Mighty Commander
Tarug and the soldiers of the Ultimate to our humble colony.
Marcella switched her mind off to the prattle. Instead she walked across the library to her small office
at the back, collecting a small parcel of essential items she couldn t leave behind. Just a quick trip to her
quarters and then she d be ready to leave on the next shuttle.
And during his stay no ships, other than regular mining skippers, will be permitted to disembark the
Rock.
Marcella nearly dropped her things. No shuttles! It would make leaving difficult. Not impossible, but
very hard. She needed time to plan an escape. Sighing, she put the things back in her office. She doubted
Raol even knew she was here. With judicious surveillance she could avoid meeting him and Lilithia and get
away clean.
Her body argued with her on that one, but she d be the first to admit she had a stupid body. Walking
back to her quarters Marcella made a mental list of all the things she needed to bring back with her. If Raol
and Lilithia were going to be wandering around the Rock then she had to move into her office for a while.
They d never bump into her there.
Marcus looked at the report and nearly exploded in fury. What do you mean Krog is dead?
Dead, sir, the soldier stammered nervously. We found him collapsed in the Grunge. The medtech
confirmed he was dead in his cell.
What killed him? Marcus demanded. He paced across his office, fighting to keep his temper in
control. Krog had been a few hours from revealing who d set up the assassination attempt. Maybe there
was some way to find out even now, if he could determine how and where. [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
